Spaghetti Cookbook for The Whole Family: Delicious and Easy Spaghetti Recipes That You Can Cook Every Day by Angel Burns

Ingredients for the sauce:

1 cup of yellow onion, chopped

4 cloves of garlic, minced

2, 28 ounce cans of tomatoes, crushed

2 bay leaves

Dash of salt and black pepper

2 Tablespoons of basil, minced

Instructions:

1. Prepare the meatballs. In a bowl, add in the bread pieces and 2/3 cup of water. Set aside to soak for 5 minutes. Mash well.

2. In a separate bowl, add in the lean ground beef, ground sweet sausage, grated parmesan cheese, minced garlic, dash of salt and black pepper. Add in 1 egg and the bread crumbs. Stir well to mix.

3. Shape the mix into 1 ½ inch sized meatballs.

4. In a skillet set over medium to high heat, add in 3 tablespoons of olive oil. Add in the meatballs. Cook for 6 minutes or until browned. Remove and set aside.

5. Prepare the sauce. In the same skillet, add in 1 tablespoon of olive oil Add in the chopped onion. Cook for 5 minutes or until soft. Add in the 4 cloves of garlic. Continue to cook for 1 to 2 minutes or until fragrant.

6. Add in the cans of crushed tomatoes and bay leaves. Allow to come to a boil.

7. Add in the meatballs. Cover and allow to simmer for 30 minutes. Add in the chopped basil. Season with a dash of salt and black pepper.

8. Prepare the spaghetti according to the directions on the package. Drain the spaghetti and set aside. Transfer into the skillet with the meatballs. Toss well to mix.

9. Remove from heat.

10. Serve the spaghetti with the sauce and meatballs over the top.
